Job Description

The Technical Lead – Windows/Linux Platforms is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the production servers and handling requests and problem escalations from Service Desk and other departments.  The engineer determines the severity of issues (triage), prioritizes issues, performs diagnosis of system and software components to identify root cause, and takes action or recommends corrective action for resolution.

The engineer will work with other networks, database, software & quality engineering teams and technical product managers and vendors to clearly state problems, troubleshoot, diagnose and/or resolve complex technical issues.

• Create, maintain, publish, and present a roadmap for the Windows and Linux platforms
• Being able to lead a group of people for a common objective
• Participate in research, innovation, evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Initiate projects to advance the initiatives identified in the roadmap.
• Participate in problem management activities for problems with result in availability issues for the platform.
• Coach and encourage organizational shift to Devops model.
• Collaborate with coworkers both in person and remotel.
• Take part in advanced end to end troubleshooting.
• Be excited to learn more and solve problems in scaling large systems.

Technical Competency

• 10+ years of experience with designing, building and administrating complex Windows /Linux platforms and operation of medium to large-scale enterprise and cloud infrastructures, databases, and application systems with high-availability requirements.
• Strong proficiency with mainstream Windows operating systems, such as  Windows 2003/2008/2012 (R2)
• 2+ Years of experience on working with multiple cloud providers such as Azure, vCloud & AWS
• Extensive experience using PowerShell to automate repeatable work
• Experience in scripting with Batch, VB, Perl & WMI
• Sound experience on Windows Operating System hardening
• Sound analytical and troubleshooting skills

 

Non-Technical Competency

• 4+ Years’ experience of leading small team
• Should have very good verbal & written communication skills.
• You have experience in leading and developing people.
• You are familiar with agile methodologies.
• You have a pragmatic outlook and with open communication to others.
• You understand the impact of your decisions on the business, department and team.
• Right attitude, a passion for customer service and good interpersonal skills.

 

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or any other equivalent qualification.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
• Red hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• ITIL – Foundation
