Full-Time Service Delivery Engineer

Job Description

As a member of the Service Delivery Team, your focus is to efficiently deliver projects and provide post-implementation support and solutions to our client’s customer base while serving as an advocate to customer needs.

This involves implementation of Technical Solutions using thier Applications on customer sites and attending to post-sales and post-implementation technical/sales inquiries from customers.

As the primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for maintaining customer relationships with our client while providing advice and assistance to their internal employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

You are expected to be an expert member of the problem-solving/avoidance team and be highly skilled in solving extremely complex (often previously unknown), critical customer issues.

While performing the assigned duties with a high level of autonomy and reporting to the Management on customer status and technical matters on a regular basis, you will also be expected to work with limited guidance from the Management.

You should be a leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring others.

Work in a routine/non-routine and fairly complex environment, which involves the application of advanced technical/business skills in the Telecom/VAS area, such as Messaging System, Gateway, IVR etc.

Demonstrate the ability to work in a substantial customer interface independently with exceptional communication skills, while consistently achieving the absolute highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or an equivalent, with a minimum of three years related experience, in addition to experience in VAS products such SMSC, MMSC, Messaging Gateway, IVR etc., is required.

  • Experience in telecom core networks, virtualisation and related tools will be an added advantage.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • VAS application installation and troubleshooting (VAS Products such SMSC, MMSC, Messaging Gateway, IVR etc)

  • UNIX/Linux administration including installing, configuring and troubleshooting web servers and services. (Apache, yaws and tomcat).

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Databases (mysql, MongoDB and mnesia).

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Linux based Network Monitoring tools such as Nagios, SAR and MRTG etc.

  • Use of network/protocol analytical tools such as Wireshark.

  • Hands on experience and knowledge in protocols such as M3UA, SMPP, SIP, RTP etc.

 

Familiarity With Some Of The Following Would Be Advantageous

  • Shell Scripting

  • Virtualisation

  • Earlang Development

  • Telecom Core Network Elements such as MSC/MME, MGW, STP, SBC, HSS/HLR etc.
