Shipping Operations Executive

We are on the lookout for a Shipping Operations Executive for our well reputed client company located in Colombo.

Requirements

Minimum 4-6 year’s experience in shipping
Working in a high pressured and dynamic environment.
Experience in ship agency, freight forwarding and logistics is essential.
Proven exposure of working with customers, operators, agents, ports,immigration, customs, dockyard and shipping related services providers. It is essential to have good work ethics.
Be organized, documentation skills, communication, team work.
Ability to multi task. Someone who aims to complete work with customer focus, efficiency and quality.

Job Role

Support company operations strategy
Co-ordinate the services lines; ship agency, freight forwarding, logistics and not limited.
Carryout port agency, dry dock agency, husbandry, security personal, crew change activities daily for customers.
Operate freight forwarding air and sea with subsidiary companies in China, India and Dubai. Experience working with importers and exporters, customs, shipping carriers. Carryout documentation and customer service.
Co-ordinate logistics activities related to general cargo, spare parts, crew, project cargo.
Handle cargo supervision and stevedoring operations.
Develop relationships local and international with ship owners, managers, operators, agents, dockyard, engineering firms, ports, customs, immigration and all shipping and related businesses.
Closely liaise with internal department’s sales, administration, network of offices to collaborate, handle existing services and develop new opportunities.
Attend daily and weekly operations meeting with internal departments and MD.
Adhere to supply chain and operations related procedures.
Maintain and submit documentation related to jobs timely.
Process documentation related to operations co-ordinate with internal departments.
Create processes and documents related to operations.
Maintain company communication protocol.
