SENIOR WEB DEVELOPER
We are on the look-out for competent ‘Senior Web Developer’ for our client company that is based in Colombo.
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use.
Serve as techical expert on development projects.
Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
Requires moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline.
Conducts tasks and assignments as directed.
Works with moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
The team is seeking a seasoned Web Developer for the development and support of global web-based SAS platform. The project and team is very quick paced.

As a core developer on the team you will be responsible for the design, development and successful delivery of new features to the site. You demonstrate an advanced technical skill-set and have a track record of executing independently with minimal supervision. You will be a solid team player who can work closely with the team to bring ideas and UI designs to life.

Key Qualifications
Advanced level experience with Ruby on Rails, RSpec, and Cucumber.
Experience with Git and Github workflow.
Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming and design.
Experience with jQuery and Backbone frameworks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Code review and feedback with peers.
Natural impulse to simplify complicated problems.
Experience with Agile development.
DevOps experience.
Education
Bachelors degree required, or equivalent experience
• Extensive working knowledge of JavaScript (Closures, IIFE’s).
• Solid understanding of Web 2.0 technologies (AJAX, CSS, JSON, XMLHttpRequest, DOM, etc.
• BSCS/MSCS or equivalent with 7-10+ years of web based software development experience.
• Working knowledge of PHP (cURL, OOP, PDO).
• Experience writing asynchronous webapps with RESTful backends.
• Experience designing, developing, and crawling RESTful web services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with YUI or similar frameworks (JQuery, Flex, DoJo, etc.).
Preferable Job Qualifications:
• Experience in a scrum environment.
• Apache or similar Web/Application Servers.
• Experience with HTML5 canvas or SVG.
• Familiar with NodeJS.
