Full-Time Platform Services Engineer

Job Description

The ideal candidate should have a very high level of exposure and hands on experience in Windows Server platform implementations and in level 2 and level 3 Support. He/She will work in small to large scale implementations, and operating an existing large scale server platform base. The candidate should be confident to work independently to isolate and fix issues in a complex production environment, and be proactive and solution driven to improve the existing platform. To deliver the aforesaid, the candidate should be a master in Active Directory and related roles/services, and be a specialist in Microsoft System Center products which is primarily used to manage the Windows platform.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven mastery in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2 servers
  • Expert skills in Active Directory Domain Services, Certificate Services, Federation Services (ADFS), LDAP Services, Rights Management Services, Group Policies and PowerShell.
  • Expert skills in core roles and services in Windows Server platform. i.e. DNS, DHCP, IIS, WSUS, DFS, NLB, RDM, Hyper-V, Print and WDS Services.
  • Excellent knowledge of SNMP, SMTP, IPsec, SSL, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS
  • High level of exposure and hand-on experience in implementing, configuring and managing Microsoft System Center products. Mainly Microsoft SCCM, Orchestrator and SCOM.
  • Good knowledge and preferably hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform and Services
  • Intermediate knowledge of datacenter hardware such as rack/blade servers, routers, firewalls, switches, storage devices, UPS systems, and load balances, etc.
  • Good knowledge in TCP/IP stack and networking. Hands-on experience in configuring and managing network devices is an added advantage (routers, switches, access points, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Lync
  • Basic knowledge of non-Microsoft visualization systems such as VMware and Citrix
  • Basic knowledge of non-Microsoft web servers and database systems such as Apache Tomcat, MySQL, Oracle, DB2
  • Versatile technical skills and ability and willingness to provide support for multitude of systems.
  • Awareness of ITSM/ITIL framework
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills for both technical and customer related documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Technology or equivalent qualification
  • More than 10 years of industry experience and at least 3 years in a similar capacity
  • Microsoft certified Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Solutions Associate certifications is a must
  • Industry certifications in Cisco, Linux, VMware, etc. is an added advantage.
