Job Summary
Accessibility is making systems accessible for all user types irrespective of their disability. At Pearson’s we make
sure all our digital applications are Accessible to all users. Accessibility is a broad subject area which comes under
User Experience and Usability, where you will have an immense opportunity to expand your skills overtime.
The Accessibility Specialist will be a subject matter expert and help to certify accessibility standards in all releases
we deliver.
Responsibilities
Conduct early UI design reviews with all Project teams
Provide technical recommendations and solutions for Accessibility & UI issues
Conduct Accessibility reviews
Assist blind testers
Research on new developments
Skills & Knowledge
BSc in Computer Science or an equitant degree with 3+ years of work experience in software engineering/ manual
testing
Hands on experience with web technologies
Basic knowledge of assistive technologies
Exposure to cross browser testing including mobile platforms
Effective written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively and lead projects to completion with minimum supervision
Good people skills and positive attitude
Out of the box and creative thinking
Basic knowledge of Accessibility standards is an added advantage
Knowledge of Usability techniques and User Experience is an added advantage
