Job Description

MASTER PLUMBERS (MALDIVES)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Performs new construction work on commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.  Checks and reviews systems after installation and makes necessary changes, adjustments and modifications to obtain desired results, using blueprints, sketches and manufacturer’s specifications and manuals to obtain locations and details.
  2. Performs and documents preventative maintenance programs for all plumbing systems.
  3. Performs required inspection and maintenance on cross connection control valves.
  4. Performs maintenance and repair on plumbing and mechanical systems. Performs installation, maintenance and repair on all plumbing systems including valves, toilets, sinks, garbage disposal units, water and sewer lines, gas lines, water heaters and pipe coverings.
  5. Requisitions, orders and procures various materials, parts, and equipment needed to accomplish necessary installation or repairs within in the budget guidelines.
  6. Responds to emergency calls during and after normal working hours and coordinates the necessary action to provide prompt repair service.
  7. Provides information to supervisor for resolving maintenance problems related to plumbing and mechanical piping systems
  8. Must have the ability to handle materials and hand tools as well as electrically or pneumatically operated power equipment and tools.
  9. Operates electronic mail and work order systems and automated building control systems as it relates to the site plumbing and mechanical piping systems.
  10. Documents work orders and maintains records of daily activities and materials utilized.  Demonstrates good communication and public relations skills.
  11. Maintains control over assigned trucks, tools, and equipment to insure proper safety, inventory, maintenance and housekeeping.
  12. Makes efficient use of time and resources.
  13. Understands the principles, equipment, materials and work methods that are directly or indirectly involved in the work.
  14. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. TRAINING:

·         Diploma or equivalent technical education

·         Successful completion of hazardous materials seminars/courses as required.

·         Testing for qualifications may be given.

 

  1. EXPERIENCE:

·         Master Plumber status and at least five years’ experience in maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing and mechanical piping systems in a mega project.

·         Work Experience in Middle East is a Must.

 

  1. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:

·         Determines by regular inspections the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major repairs on plumbing and mechanical piping systems in the Project.

·         Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots and overhauls complete plumbing and mechanical piping systems; replaces, fits and installs parts as necessary.  Sets and adjusts valves, controls and regulators and checks operation after repairs.

·         Must be familiar with, have a working knowledge of and comply with all national, state, and local air quality, mechanical and plumbing codes to provide a safe environment for all personnel.

·         Must have the ability to handle materials and hand tools as well as electrically or pneumatically powered equipment and tools.

·         Must be able to effectively follow oral and written instructions.

·         Must be in excellent physical condition and capable of working from ladders, scaffolding and high-lift equipment as well as crawling tunnels and attics and other confined spaces.

·         Must be able to wear respirator and protective clothing of standard sizes.

·         Must be able to perform heavy lifting frequently lifting 50-75 pounds and occasionally 75-100 pounds.

·         Must be able to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships and follow supervisory direction.

·         Stand/walk/sit

·         Lift/carry up to 100 lbs. Occasionally, 50 lbs. Frequently, and 10 lbs. Constantly.

·         Push/pull occasionally.

·         Climb stairs/ladders occasionally.

·         Stoop/kneel/bend occasionally.

·         Crawl on rare occasions.

·         Reaching high/low level frequently.

·         Repetitive finger movement, twisting or pressure involving wrists or hands occasionally.

·         Both hands/both legs required.

·         Ability to speak, hear, see.

Salary: USD 1000 – 1500/= + Free food & sharing accommodation.
