Maintenance Engineer

To ensure that priority is given to work in progress, communicate with the team regarding status, allocate best resources/personnel to effectively identify nature of faults, check availability of required spares, communicate with suppliers on the requirements by adhering to procedures in order to ensure availability of all required spare parts at the commencement of work within the allocated period

Professional Competencies:

• Communicate with the team and verify status of work in progress to ensure that all instructions pertaining to maintenance activities, are fully understood and effectively carried out
• Ensure that adequate priority is given to work in progress ahead of commencement of new assignments / Oversee all work in progress at different locations in order to facilitate on time completion
• Allocate best resources/personnel to effectively identify nature of faults to ensure necessary repair are completed in the shortest possible timeframe
• Check availability of required spares to facilitate replacement ahead of commencement of repairs in order to ensure smooth operation of engineering functions
• Communicate with suppliers regarding the requirements and adhere to the procedure for obtaining quotations, raise of purchase orders in order to procure requirements in a timely manner
• Communicate with process owners in order to obtain release of machines/equipment to facilitate the repair and ensure that repair is carried out within the agreed time frame
• Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and allocate resources to carry out maintenance/repairs to relevant machines whilst ensuring that work is completed within the allocated period
• Ensure that the periodic service agreement is strictly followed with regard to servicing of plant & machinery to ensure effective functioning of machines
• Assist in providing estimates regarding cost of work with regard to in-house installations/modifications etc in order to achieve departmental objectives
• Ensure that health and safety procedures are strictly adhered to during the performance of all activities within the maintenance department to achieve organizational objectives
• Review work of teams allocated to different jobs, visit production floor daily and assist the teams in carrying out their duties, as and when required to ensure smooth operation of electrical systems
• Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management

 Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Engineering
• 2-3 Years of experience
