Garment Technologist – MAS Intimates
Purpose of the Job
To develop patterns and follow-up on the sample development/ approval processes in order to ensure products are cut and sewn to customer specified standards whilst transferring relevant details from the development site to the production units and overlooking day-to-day activities of the team
Your duties include:
- Together with designers and pattern makers co-ordinate fitting sessions, ensure that all garments are fitted to confirm that buyer’s comments have been adhered to.
- Develop product technical specification packages to communicate requirements for fit and construction, taking responsibility for all aspects of technical pre-production work relating to fit and construction.
- Provide technical support to Design, Pre-Production, Merchant /IE & Production teams during product development.
- Also need to provide technical support on issues of fabric & trims.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop specifications to define product performance standards through the application of laboratory testing and wash and wear testing.
- Responsible for managing the adherence of the time and action calendars during the pre-production process.
- Initiate technical development in fit/construction/quality/cost to identify the first to market opportunities.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management
- Communicate with customer; clarify issues in order to ensure the fit process is in line with critical path for bulk production. Subsequent to base size approval, communicate all details of customer comments received through merchandiser to pattern technologist/designer in order to ensure that all relevant comments are known by them while clarifying any points with the buyer.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Apparel/Textile technology plus two years relevant experience
