The Position
Exetel is expanding its Sales team in Colombo to effectively handle sales enquiries, order processing and also to provide consultancy on Exetel’s range of Internet and Telecommunication products and services to prospective customers in Australia.
Exetel’s Colombo office is at the World Trade Centre (WTC). You will be required to work an 8 hour ’shift’ from 3.00 am to 12.00 noon five days each week.  The people who are currently successful at Exetel in these positions have the following characteristics:
  • Tertiary qualification in sales / marketing and computer related subjects.
  • Solid personal experience with personal selling and a flair for sales.
  • Patience, Courtesy and the ability to pay attention to ultimate detail.
  • Ability to work full on for extended periods of time.
  • You will work with a group of people who are among the best in the Internet field and will have good opportunities to advance in your career in a choice of directions.
Job Description
The job responsibilities of this position are as follows but not limited to:
  • Act as a sales consultant to Australian customers promoting Exetel’s wide range of telecommunication services.
  • Perform various service qualification checks using advanced web based applications.
  • Effectively respond to sales enquiries.
  • Undertake sales orders and submit necessary applications for effective provisioning/delivery of services.
Thorough training will be provided to effectively carry out your job, however, you should have the following essential requirements.
  1. Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
  2. If your English skills are not above average, we would not encourage you to apply.
  3. A degree in IT/Business/Marketing and/or fully or part qualified CIM/SLIM.
  4. Skills in using computers, Internet, email & Web applications.
  5. Experience in a Telco/ISP environment will be a distinct advantage.
Remunerations for the above post will be well over Rs. 90,000/- that includes allowances for travelling for the early morning shifts and generous sales commissions in addition to the Rs. 90,000/- all inclusive earnings.
