Application Engineer
Role of the Application Engineer is a DevOps practitioner, who will design, build, deploy and support the continuous delivery pipeline utilizing the Pearson standard and most appropriate technology for this purpose. He or She will be responsible for implementing operational features/non functional requirements for the team(s) supported and will be part of a global application engineering team which supports DevOps transformation on a global scale. Also Application Engineer’s primary responsibilities will be to support/enhance Pearson applications in production and pre-production environments hosted in a hybrid cloud ecosystem.
The position involves setting up, supporting, configuring, and maintaining middleware software for development, test, and production servers in geographically-disparate, multi-tiered environments by applying middleware/cloud expertise. Technical documentation is one of the major aspects of an application engineer. This role will assist with the development and implementation of support standards and practices. Application engineer operates on a 24*5 on desk and weekend on call rota to enhance supportability for the global Pearson applications.
