Full-Time Site Engineer
Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Site Engineer for our well reputed conglomerating telecommunication client company located in Colombo 02.
Salary: Negotiable
Principle Accountabilities:
Create local Acquisition / Engineering process adapted to Global process.
Agree with Customer on ways of working for the site engineering.
Agree with implementation team on ways of working.
Adapt and use of different regional/global tools during project delivery.
Create progress measurements through tools.
Create material reference list –“Customer required products” and “Site & Installation material” documents.
Create Type Site requirements specification form.
Adapt Global templates to local ways of working.
Secure availability and access to support tools (available from regional and global perspective).
Secure storage of output and redundant information.
Agree with Customer on Engineering information, templates and way of delivery.
Agree with Customer on design rules on Engineering in line with local industry standard, laws and regulations.
Create Scope of Work, Purchasing price items and performance requirements for sourcing.
Lead ASP teams for LOS, Installation & IBS surveys and evaluate the performance of ASP for RAN Nodes (BTS, Transmission, BSC, TRC, RNC, EPDU).
Assist sourcing/ASP Manager with on-site/off-site assessment of subcontractor candidates.
Technical evaluation of subcontractor candidates, negotiation and selection.
Plan and execute Education, Training and Assessment of ASP / MP (Micro providers) on site engineering.
Monitor 100% of the service delivery in terms of site engineering.
Checking of pre sales BoQ.
Issue Billing Certificate to ASPs.
Quality check on 20% of all delivered Engineering documentation.
Provide hardware dimensioning for site related products based upon solution requirements.
Checks equipment specification and if any detected, wrong or missing material to be reported to order planning
Provide technical assistance and progress in terms of installation engineering to the CPM during project planning and execution phase
Groom up ASP team with required knowledge if required.
Communicate and implement findings from the lesson learned of previous projects.
Main interface of implementing Customer requirements for introduction of new products, procedures and requirements.
Adapt local methods and processes in New Product Introduction (NPI).
Communicate and implement new requirements into the service delivery community.
SME of site engineering during pre sales phase of project.
Together with Sourcing/ASP Management make cost estimation of engineering services.
Create / Responsible for Engineering rollout plan.
Perform progress meeting, on regular bases, with Customer, Project team and Suppliers.
Follow changes in local industry standards and laws.
Create and responsible for the design solution.
Verify the solution BoQ (EAB and installation materials part).
Co-ordinate with Supply team for Site Delivery
Create allocation data for relevant Nodes/Radio Site
Preparing Site Installation Document (C-Module) for Nodes/Radio Site
Preparing HW-DT for BSC/TRC
Supervising the ASP in Core Node Installation.
Working Relationships:
Interface responsibility towards Customers and Product Development Units (PDU) in engineering issues. Local Sales, Project Team, Sourcing and Distribution organization.
Recommended Minimum Requirements:
Education:
BSC/Higher Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Communications, with minimum 1-3 years in Telecommunication systems.
Pertinent Experience:
• 1-3 years’ experience in site engineering including site investigation and engineering in implementation projects
Professional/Technical Competence:
Knowledge on 3G procedures and protocols
Good knowledge & skills on Ericsson 2G/3G products
Familiar with tools used for engineering of different products in a network environment
Able to use relevant Ericsson tools e.g. PIwin, GASK, PPT-SE, Site Handler, Verdi, CPI, etc.
Basic knowledge of a drawing program e.g. AutoCAD
Good knowledge about Ericsson Project Delivery process – PROPS-C
Good knowledge on Ericsson business process, quality systems and standards
Good knowledge on Ericsson switch, radio and transmission products and related services
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
Should have cost awareness and able to drive cost efficient solutions design
Strong communication (with fluency in written/oral English) and interpersonal skills
Excellent skill in the use of IS/IT and should be familiar with advanced excel & power point features
Do things proactively under minimal supervision and take result-oriented actions
Must have the highest level of integrity and willingness to work hard. A positive, can-do outlook and results-solutions oriented perspective is essential
