Consultant – Solaris

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated professional, who is a  Subject Matter expert in Solaris with solid fundamentals in Linux with expert knowledge of  LDAP/NIS/Netgroups/Sudo.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Configure and audit user administration system
• Install, upgrade and configure 3^rd party applications, OS parameters and patches
• Respond to system monitors and alerts to eliminate potential or impending customer impact
• Develop and review system monitor playbook to ensure accurate and timely event management
• Manage server storage and conduct capacity planning activities
•  Conduct Tier 2 Troubleshooting, Expert at Remote Administration SSH and rsync/sftp/scp
• Conduct knowledge share and training
• Submit, track, close and follow-up on open vendor cases
• Develop, install and test pre-defined automated scripts or packages using BladeLogic/Puppet
• Manage services and configure and test network settings
• Create and maintain system information diagrams and detailed documentation

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Production environment
• Experience in writing of ksh scripting, and identifying issues and driving to root cause via a consistent, logical approach
• Experience in Veritas Cluster Server would be an added advantage
• Solaris – Alternate boot environments (ABE), creating, removing, activation
• Solaris Live Upgrade (LU) – Patching to an ABE, activation, reboot to new ABE,  and verifying the running OS has been patched
•  Solaris Zones – creating, removing, managing
• ZFS – creating, removing, increasing, zpools, file systems, quotas
• Knowledge of ITIL and its Change Management practices
• Proven attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
