Full-Time Internal Audit Manager
Job Description
•Conduct risk based audits of the Banking and Branch Operations units to ensure that all risks are assessed and controlled and that they are compliant with policies, procedures, and regulations
•The ability to add value by analyzing the current processes / procedures and ascertain if they mitigate the perceived risks adequately
•Conduct Branch Operations audits and spot checks to ensure risks are assessed and controlled and that the operations of the branch are compliant with policies, procedures, and regulations
•Provide required support for conducting internal investigations. Specialist support to the Manager Investigations as and when deemed necessary including the provision of analytical data.
•Submit Management information on completed audits in an effective manner with suitable and practical recommendations for corrective actions and qualitative improvements on addressing the Root cause.
•Ensure that controls are adequate in new products and procedures introduced from time to time by the business units
•Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and draw attention to the superiors if there is any failure to take adequate remedial action
Prerequisites
•A minimum of 06 years experience in Banking and/ or an Audit Department of a financial institution out of which at least 02 years must be at Assistant Manager Level.
•Experience in working with Bank’s core systems, Auditing or Risk Management experience in Banking and Branch Operations functions is preferred.
•A Full/part qualification in Banking (Completion of at least 4 subjects at DBF level) or CIMA/ACCA/ACA (completion of the 3rd stage)/ Degree
•Thorough knowledge of the bank’s core IT system
•Overall knowledge of the workings of Key departments of the bank, operational knowledge of various retail and corporate banking products
•Excellent communication and report writing skills, ability to articulate on the observations made as well as the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision and within the stipulated timeframe.
•Leadership skills, ability to tutor staff in the unit / an Eye for detail / ability to foresee future risks in a changing environment etc…
